Water Feature
Breathability and Longevity

Our Process
This water feature is constructed using a combination of traditional and durable materials, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. The main body consists of flint stone embedded in lime mortar, a material known for its breathability and longevity. Lime mortar is a traditional choice that complements the natural surroundings, allowing the structure to age gracefully and remain robust by accommodating slight movements and releasing trapped moisture.

Adaptability & Sustainability
The bricks used to frame the feature are laid with precision, forming a semi-circular arch that adds structural stability and aesthetic appeal. The combination of bricks and lime mortar creates a visual contrast while maintaining a cohesive, rustic style.
The flint stones, with their natural irregular shapes and dark hues, are carefully selected and arranged, creating a textured surface that adds depth and character. These stones are interspersed with the bright lime mortar, emphasising their rugged beauty while ensuring a strong bond. The design demonstrates an understanding of traditional masonry techniques, blending functionality with artistry.

The Result
This thoughtful construction ensures the feature is not only a striking garden centrepiece but also a durable and sustainable addition that can withstand the elements while complementing its natural environment. It also serves as the starting point of a network of cascading ponds, creating movement and aeration in the water while enhancing the visual and ecological value of the garden.
