Artistic Flair and Sustainability

Our Process
The site was previously a dilapidated stable yard, which we cleared by demolishing the existing structure and breaking up the old concrete. Rather than discarding the concrete, we decided to repurpose it in a creative way. The broken pieces were carefully reassembled to create a large-scale crazy paving design, laid on a sharp sand screed and pointed with sharp sand to give it a weathered, rustic appearance, just as the client requested.

Adaptability & Sustainability
In addition to the paving, we built the base for an Alitex greenhouse, designed planting areas, and established a kitchen garden complete with cold frames. The project focused on sustainability and the use of reclaimed materials, in keeping with the natural character of the site. We also imported local topsoil to ensure the best possible planting conditions for the client’s garden.

A key feature of this project was the creation of a pond, which not only adds visual interest but also enhances the garden's ecosystem. To further support healthy plant growth, we incorporated level changes and installed multiple soakaways to manage water flow and ensure the right moisture levels for planting. Given that the client was particularly green-fingered, these thoughtful details were essential in creating a space that would thrive under their care.

The Result
Throughout the project, we focused on blending functionality with aesthetics, using reclaimed materials and natural elements to create a garden that feels both timeless and well-suited to the client’s needs.
